66 second pair on flop basic question
Party Poker, $2/$4 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (BB): $455.60 UTG: $394 MP: $610.29 CO: $400 BTN: $630.40 SB: $402 Pre-Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB) UTG folds, MP raises to $18, 3 folds, Hero calls $14 Flop: ($38) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, MP bets $34, Hero? Found myself a little confused here. If I have air or a set I'm C/Raising here, but wasn't sure what is the best plan with 2nd pair type hand. Since a call from me here would imply a weak hand allowing my opponent to take this away from me on the turn I thought about either raising and turning this into a bluff, or folding because there's such a good chance of me facing a turn bet - even though calling seems like the most standard move. |

Re: 66 second pair on flop basic question
This is pretty player dependant but fwiw I wouldn't always call preflop, there is definitely nothing wrong with folding and it might be better tbh.
I'd fold this flop I think, unless this player makes this large flop bet all the time. I don't think raising is good but it probably isn't that bad in a vacuum, I think fold > call > raise though as a default here. |
