New Laptop, newb question on wireless
My apologies for what I'm sure is a completely basic question for you guys...but I have purchased an Inspiron notebook from Dell preloaded with the following:
Dell Wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n Dual-band internal PCI express mini card. Backward compatible to 802.11a/b/g. 270 Mbps peak rate when used with Netgear Draft N router WNR834B or other Draft N router with Intensi-fi technology. I already have DSL from Verizon at home. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I purchase a Wireless Router (the Netgear WNR834B), that will be all I need to get online with the notebook at home, correct? Any other suggestions for someone is new to the whole wireless thing? I thought about getting the Verizon Wireless card installed, but ultimately decided I wouldn't use it enough to warrant the $69/month, or whatever it's up to now. All feedback appreciated, thanks guys. |

Re: New Laptop, newb question on wireless
that router will work fine, and that should be all you need to create a wireless network at home.
