I like it in PL, where you can rack someone with it.

I don't see where it's going to be worth your while enough of the time in limit action. You really need a high aceless flop to be ahead. I guess it's worth 11 to 1 to see the flop, but it seems to be like you're getting trapped here more often than not.

Oh the glories of a profitable weekend. First I flop NLD with nada for high, some guys pots it with 388 on board, I call intending to get away from a non-NL completing turn. Turn completes NL with wheel gut and NFD... bingo! He pots again, I pooooosh, turn is a 5c completing my wheel SF. I scoop. He had A33x (x>6) with the flopped boat. Classic!

Next super luckbox is during that loose half hour where you are like "well let's gamble" while waiting for the next real life activity. Pocket Aces flop a set, pot it. Two callers. Turn quads, check check I push, get one caller and the low doesn't complete. LOL!!! Man I wish every day were Christmas.

[/ QUOTE ]LetsGetItOn - I don't think your post belongs in the low content thread. I think posts like this one merit a thread of their own. (I don't mean that as a criticism). But since you have put your post here, I'll chip in my two cents worth.

I don't personally like hands with low pairs like threes, except mainly for their blocking value and scoop potential when you have a good low draw. For example, A233, A334, and A335 seem nice to me, even if rainbows, and I hate rainbows. And of course I like AA33, especially if double suited. And I'd play double-suited-KK33.

But your QQ33 seems fraught with peril, even though double suited.

However, I have to admit that I'd probably call the raise from the big blind, especially with four potential customers.

But I'd almost be dreading a flop with a trey or a flush draw, and you're only going to see a flop with a queen about one out of eight times (something like that).

I think if you do play that hand, you probably will feel compelled to continue when the flop has a trey. And when the flop does have a trey, you're probably looking at playing for half the pot and your high half is in peril.

All in all, unless the hand also has an ace working with a three, I think a pair of threes, per se, in a hand is more of a liability than an asset in a limit game.

Phat Mack is going to get on my case for being so loose, but O.K. from the big blind for a single raise with five opponents, I'd see the flop too.

But I would hate that pair of threes.

It's not just an "extra bet", but it's 2 "extra bets". But anyway, I think you played that well (and the others too).

Hi Dorsal Fin - Beset, a former moderator of this forum, came up with the idea for a monthly low content thread to be a place where individuals who frequent this site could post various thoughts not directly related to strategy and tactical issues. (The Omaha-8 forum is a strategy and tactics forum, rather than a chat room). If someone who posts here regularly does very well in some event, it's nice to hear about it and this thread is where it belongs.

(Otherwise I, or some other moderator, will probably either delete it, or move it to a more appropriate forum. For example, if it's a brag or bad beat post, it will more or less routinely get moved to the brags, beats and variance forum.

But once you post something in this thread unless it violates 2+2 policy or defames another forum poster, I'm probably going to leave it alone.

I guess you have to look through the other posts in this thread and in last months thread to get a better idea of what goes in here.

Sometimes people will answer your posts and sometimes nobody will.

Somebody starts a fresh low content thread every month.

That's my take on it anyhow.

Buzz
