Default Rake back Poker Stars

I have a question about rake back, if rake back is so important to the long term bottom line of the online cash game player, then why would so many well informed quality players play at poker stars where there is no rake back offered? what am i missing here? i'm new to all this so i apolgize in advance if this is a dumb question.

Their VIP program is their version of rakeback. Although it is not the same, for those that enjoy all of the quality things about Stars it is enough to play there.

More players, tables, and tournaments than other sites. Very good customer service. Lower rake at some limits. The FPPs and VIP benefits especially for high volume players have value. For some these factors and others may make up for the lack of rakeback.
