I like the fact that you saw the 3-month breakeven stretch, and instead of attributing it to 'running bad,' figured out what was wrong with you game and fixed it. I think too many players here blame variance too much instead of analyzing their game.
Just out of curiosity, what aspects of your game did you fix? |

[/ QUOTE ] I think the biggest things for me were giving more respect to early position raises, especially in FR games; my adjustment was to fold more/gamble less in these situations unless I was sure I'd have the pot odds to continue. I also tried to improve my shorthanded and HU game, which was weak relative to my competition at the limits I play. These were areas where I was either making poor decisions or losing a lot of value. I'm not claiming that I now make the right decisions in these situations all the time, but these were the aspects of my game that I've tried to improve, and I'm happy with my results. And in retrospect, yeah, they seem like obvious holes to plug, and WTF was I thinking before?! |
