I knew if I didn't bet the turn I would probably be bluffed off this hand which is hopefully still the best hand? It's $5 so he may well have had the A or drawing to a flush or has a lower pp. |

Re: $5 JJ early
It was a very scary turn card but I think you played it right. At this level weak players will often call this flop with AK, but it could easily be a low pair or a suited king.

Re: $5 JJ early
if you felt like he would fire the turn with or without a hand then check and call when he pushes, that way you get to showdown against his entire range instead of only hands with an A or a 9 (which is pretty much all he calls your push with)

Re: $5 JJ early
I just think that any sign of weakness will induce most $5 players to bet here.

Re: $5 JJ early
Maybe weak.. but so early on I dont want to risk it all to a A floater. Check and fold if he pushes..
You are still on approx. 1100. |

Re: $5 JJ early
i don't like the turn shove; you're only getting called by hands that beat you and are letting your opponents off easily if they are behind.
i think you have a couple of options; i mean the A is scary but not necessarily the end of the world (unless your opponent lets you know.) If you get bluffed off the hand you still have plenty of chips and a lot of time. |
