Can we go back to what role Mark Seif has in this?

With this new information I question whether or not Seif is involved at all.

[/ QUOTE ]
No one really knows, so I would keep speculation to a minimum here.

unfortunately this story will feed the vultures in Washington who want to eliminate on-line poker

[/ QUOTE ]

Honestly, it should do the opposite. Its proof that pushing online poker underground means sites may be disreputable, while instead regulating it would better protect the public.

This type of discussion belongs in the Legislation forum.

Where is the reasoning for the CEO to risk everything for a million or so $?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because if it weren't for a series of incredibly boneheaded moves - playing every hand, making very improbable looking decisions, sending out HHs with IPs and emails for the taking - there shouldn't really have been much risk involved at all.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd have run 300bb/100 forever if it wasn't for those meddling kids on 2p2!

lol nice

simply amazed by the things people have done great work, would you guys deem UB as unsafe as AP?

[/ QUOTE ]
I've gotten some inside info on UB (and its past troubles) and I can confirm with a high degree of certainty that UB does not have these sort of software vulnerabilities.

I don't know if this is relevant at all...

Found this Re: Who owns AP

"Absolute Poker and the Absolute Poker website are solely owned and operated by Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG, Route 138, Kahnawake, Quebec J0L 1B0. Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG is owned by a Mohawk of Kahnawake and is operated from the sovereign nation of the Mohawks of Kahnawake, located near Montreal Quebec. The Mohawks of Kahnawake have an aboriginal right to conduct online gaming that is recognized and protected by the Canadian Constitution."

Paragraph 4 of this press release

This thread (and all of the others dating back a couple of weeks) is amazing. I congratulate all of the 2+2ers who have spent energy and time figuring this thing out. Great detective work all around.
