Thanks for the comments. I called his raise and he showed J8 off. The guy was very loose passive and when he check raised on the river I was about 80% sure I was beat but figured it was a mistake to fold since I was getting just better than 8:1.

These tables where I play are consistantly loose passive and my general strategy is to raise when entering and keep firing when I feel I have the best hand. It is rare for a pot to be capped preflop or one any other street and generally when someone raises me they have me beat.

I think if this guy is that loose passive, there's almost 0% chance he's got a lesser hand than you at this point.

But, if unsure, go ahead and call. But you just have to really think of the type of player here. Loose passives just don't pull moves like this. But it's only a small mistake to call here anyways.
