Email I sent to friends and family:

The republicans are drunk with power. I have voted republican most of my life; however, for the first year ever, I will be voting almost exclusively democrat. I would vote libertarian, but they don't have a chance of winning, and right now we desperately need to have a split in power.

What has got me so riled up you say? I'll tell you. It's the republicans asinine attempt to ban online poker. Apparently, our politicians feel they need to protect me from myself. I've composed a list of videos for your viewing pleasure. I've also rated each one (1 to 5 stars) according to how entertaining they are. I've written my congressmen about how disgusted I am with their hypocracy and their sanctimonious zeal to diminish our rights. How can one possibly ban online gambling, but then make exceptions for lotteries, horse racing, and betting on fantasy football? I don't know how it gets any more hypocritical than that. If you support this bill, please justify that hypocracy. On top of it all, the republicans attach the online gambling bill as a rider onto a Port Security Bill. What does online gambling have to do with port security? Nothing. Finally, I think most Americans understand the limitations on rights when there is a legitimate terrorist threat--but come on, online gambling?!?!?!? I informed our fine congressmen that the republicans are losing are losing a sizeable chunk of voters thanks to their poorly thought out bill and shady way they passed this bill.

If any of you feel as I do, I urge you to write your congressman. At the very least, don't vote republican! The've become drunk with power!
