Not using PT and PAHUD (in my case, GT+)?! You must be joking! I have big problems with Ongame software myself, even just 6-7 tabling at 1/2 and 2/4. I get booted from tables on a regular basis and the 'lag' is terrible once you've got several tables open.

My solution has been to play other sites!

You can do what Prodigy said and right click PT and PAHUD to set them at Low and Below Avg priorities respectively. I have to do this w/ Bodog to keep it from Lagging.

I haven't tried putting the gaming software at the highest priority, maybe that will help things too.

i tried it and it went horrible ! as i set priority for ongame hi it doesnt really change anything but as i tried and set pahud down everything was going to freeze. just wanna know normally if i use mini tables it should use less resources right? and is it perhaps better to use game time + cause it does not use as many ressources or doesnt it change much?

Haven't tried gametime, but I know this is a problem for everyone, basically I can't play more than 6 tables without turning the HUD off. How much ram you got? have you tried Tower support?

I have a very similar setup. An extra gig of ram will probably help a bit, especially if you are using Vista - mine is on order. Otherwise do what Baja suggested, restart every hour and set PT to import every 10 mins or longer. I have noticed that it freezes the worst when PT is auto importing hands. Or, just turn auto import off.
