Default Movies That Deserve Sequel\'s That Never Got Them

Post your ideas of Movies that were set up for Sequels and never got them.

My Pic

The Last Starfighter (1984)

IMO this was the greatest movie of all time.

It had EVERYTHING Action, Drama, Dreams, Hopes, Fresh Story, Great Actors, Great Villians.

It was the first Movie ever to use CGI Spaceships. Go Gunstars

The movie MADE MONEY back in 1984 terms it made GOOD money.

The problem is no sequel was ever made no follow up books were ever made !!!! WTF.

The movie Ends with the MAIN VILLIAN GETTING AWAY.

The movie Ends with the good guys little brother playing the same video game that got him into space.

Alex and Maggie just fly off into space and that's it..... ARRGGGGGGGG I hate movie makers like this.

What other movies deserved to have sequels but never got made.

The Last Starfighter was awesome...nice choice.

I would've loved if Blade Runner could've kept going for more installments...

Dom, you're so unimaginative. The sequel would follow Luke's illegitimate son, Frank. The movie would climax with a memorable scene featuring Frank devouring 2000 chicken wings, once and for all proving that the chicken came after the egg.

I know there was a sequel to Westworld, named Futureworld, but I still feel a remake of Westworld with CGI and a great cast would be very awesome.

Swede

EDIT - After doing some googling it appears a remake is indeed in the making, with a release scheduled for 2007, yay!

You probably think Elvis is dead as well. Cool Hand Luke lives.

I would have loved to have seen the film of the Vega brothers that Tarantino used to go on about. That'd be a prequel though.

I'd also like to see the further adventures of George Clooney's character in 'From Dusk Till Dawn'.

On a cheesier level, I quite liked the characters of the vampire hunters in Blade 3, played by Ryan Reynolds and one of the Jessicas (I can't remember which one), and would go see a spin-off with those 2.

Blade 3 rocked, btw.

A much longer thread could be had by retitling this "Movies That Got Sequels That Didn't Deserve Them". Of course, this would be 90% of the sequels ever made.
