insta fold, nothing more to really be said. give him a range of opening, a range of calling, and see if you are ahead of either. my intuition would be no.

the only problem with that is, you win 11K when you're right and lose about 35K when you're wrong.

no, about 18% of the time when you're wrong, you win like 50k!

[/ QUOTE ]
On average you lose about 27K against a big pair.

You are forgetting the case where someone at the table folds a T, or both tens were folds.

Thanks for all the replies. Some good feedback. Seems like a decent amount of support for both pushing and folding.

Well, I pushed. The CO immediately groaned, obv not happy. After about ten seconds he called and flipped over AKo. He saw my Tens and wasn't happy. When he spiked a King he was though.

Tough spot, still not sure what I would do if I was in it again. I later ended up busting on an 80-20 beat about 200 from the money.

I actually dont mind flat calling and open pushing any non AKQ flop

explain how this is greater ev against the mid pair/AK/AQ portion of his range.

In a tourney like the ME I'm willing to sacrifice a little EV to reduce risk because its so damn soft. 2/3 of the time you hit a safe flop and win a decent pot, and 1/3 of the time you still have a nice stack to abuse these ppl with.

But what about the times one or two people folded an ace and your equity goes up because you can't get oversetted? Or the times that he actually has AK?

How do you know villain has AK/AQ. This approach doesn't work so well if villain has a higher or lower pp.
