Is this ever anything other than AA?
Live 5/5: Villain has won several major pots and is up to around $5,000, is playing conservative and sitting on his chips. I have $2500. He raises to $40 UTG, I call with 88 on the button.
Flop is A83r. He checks, I bet $65, he calls. Turn is a 6 completing the rainbow. He checks, I bet $140 and he min-raises me to $280. I call. River is an A. He sits there for about 1 minute, then bets $400. I fold. |

Re: Is this ever anything other than AA?
Is this player folding AKs or AKo utg? or limping it even? How can he not have 33 here, given the description we are behind one hand only AA.
I cannot lay this down ever... btw, you should probably include your stack size |

I was sitting to the right of the villain, and at the time I was absolutely convinced given the action and how he was behaving that he had a set of aces on the turn. Hero in this hand called with his boat, ofc. Also, he doesn't check min-raise this turn with a pair. 33 isn't in his range, not a large raise UTG. |

Give me a [censored] break. If there is ever a situation to fold the fourth nut boat, this is it. Villain doesn't raise anything except large pocket pairs, and he used a very weird check/call, check-min-raise line. You see some weird [censored] live, I saw one guy fold QQ out of the SB to a $25 HJ raise. Some people are so tight/passive that their hands are transparent, and this is one of those times. |

If you folded this, its scared money..period. Sorry if that offended you, but if you got a guy pegged on quads on the river...well, you wouldnt be posting here for advice. Why not AK? playing top pair conservatively. Value betting trips. |
