Default OK to delete temp flies?

I've been trying to clean up a lot of old files. I found the folder "Temp" under documents and settings. I have deleted all the picture files, but is it ok to delete everything in that folder? There are a lot of files that end in ".tmp" and I don't want to screw anything up.

Also there are several folders consisting of some version of Adobelm_cleanup (photoshop maybe?), and other random folders.

I'd like to just delete everything and clear out this whole folder. Is that OK?

thanks

instead of trying to find your temp folder every time you want to clean up, you can simply hit start/run and in the run box type:

%temp%

This will open up an explorer window to your temp folder.

Feel free to delete everything in there. Chances are good something may still be in use, in shich case windows will complain that "file <blah> is in use and cannot be deleted". Just un-highlight that file and continue deleting the rest.

This is a good thing to do on a regular basis.

You're welcome.

Alternatively, to bring up the "Run" box, you can hit <win>R (that's holding down the "windows key" typically between the left <ctrl> and <alt> keys, and while holding it down press the letter R)

That will bring up the Run menu.

<win>E will bring up windows explorer
<win>L will lock an XP (not win2k) computer (same as <ctrl><alt><del> and selecting "lock computer"

I believe there are more but those are the <win> keys I use regularly.

I advise getting a freeware temp file cleaner like this one, and use it every couple of weeks.

Cover a lot more ground and easy.

I clear my IE cookies and temp files before logging on to UB (and I don't even use IE...but most poker sites are modified IE skins for the most part). I seem to get better cards than when I forget to do it RIGGED!
