Yeah I probably should have called the turn. Turns out hes pretty aggressive, bc I open folded AQ and he showed me AJ lol.

Against an unknown I give them more credit than I probably should(AK or two pair, a set, some combo-flush draw). I didn't really put him on AK bc he only raised to $12, where they usually make it like 16-20 w/AK. It felt so weak to fold it on the turn but I guess its pretty close here. I didn't feel like he was slowing down on the river if I called so....

Plz don't ever show you are making a big lay down. When you show, you need to have a reason. The only reason to show would be to invite bluffs. But, inviting people to bluff is inviting yourself to have to make difficult decisions. Don't put yourself in this situation.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, playing live you do enough advertising with the hands you have to show anyway. Just keep some track of what you've been showing down and use whatever than image is to your advantage. People justify so much live spew for really dumb "metagame" reasons.

you have to call and re-evaluate. But, I would be super duper happy about it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Devin, do you mean you woudn't be super duper happy about it?

Anyway, I did call the flop miniraise and the turn was Qc putting 2 queens and the 3 to the flush on the board and villain led right out for 1/3 pot leaving himself just enough for a pot-size raise on the river.

I dumped it but wasn't sure if dumping on the flop against a rock might have been better.

Yep, I meant I wouldn't be happy about it.

I dunno about the turn though. I think that's a pretty good turn card. Makes it much less likely he has AQ, and does a nitty rock c/r fd?

I'm almost sure he had AQ, 44, or at worst KQ. I think he's too nitty and passive to miniraise a worse A on the flop then lead into a very scary board on the turn with a bet that looks like it's begging me to call.

Maybe I got outplayed but I really don't think so.

Are AJ, AT, TT-22, KQ in sb's pf calling range? I would probably c/c once he raises unless he bets huge

I can't see him calling with too many Ax hands against an UTG raise seeing as his VPIP is only 12. Maybe AK, AQ, and suited KQ's...?

I would guess all pairs might be in his range.

for 255bb, i think you have to fold there oop vs a 14/10 in a 3-bet pot.

that said, i dont think villain has a ten (14/10 doesn't include AT in his PFR range) so he presumably has a pocket pair.

you beat JJ and 99, and lose to 88, TT, KK, AA.
