actually, I think this kind of thing could be good, but maybe better in a continually edited sticky of "Did's List", upon which are all the crappy posters that have caught the mod's eyes. crappy posters removed after a week or so, just to put them on notice

so if someone makes a bad post, you put something in public that serves as a warning that they might be banned, and then if they make one or two more bad posts, then get banned. yup i've never heard of a system like that and i'm sure that it will work well.
