Default Theory and Practice or....

I've played my fair share of online NL and limit as well as a lot of live limit, but before I dive into my first live 1-2 NL game I thought I should check out one of these books. (The limit books certainly helped my game)

So having never read a NL specific book would you reccomend Theory and Practice or Professional Volume 1? Or would it be beneficial to just get both?

Get both, but read PNL first, or at least it's first section. I think PNL outlines the fundamentals of NL better than you'll find anywhere else.

Both for sure. I'd read Theory and Practice first.

I gotta vote for PNL. I read both, starting with NLTaP, but I have gotten a lot more out of PNL in terms of improving my play.
I plan on re-reading a lot of NLTAP, though as I think I'll get more out of it now. I think PNL was an easier to absorb approach to the fundamentals of planning your hands, and keeping the pot size where you want it.

The concepts section of T&P is a must read even if you don't read the rest of the book. It's a little over 50 pages.

Get PNL first. Both books are great but for someone in his first 1-2 NL game this book would probably provide more info for a quick start to low limit no limit.
