Good deal for him, playing oppisite Harrison is a big help to any receiver, oh yeah and he's pretty good in his own right.
That said, I'm wondering about Polians master plan here, I mean this is a step ahead of what was expected, but what are they planning for Edge. Polian is one of the best Cap GMs in the league, but this might be beyond even him.

The Colts now have two of the three most expensive wide receivers in the NFL. They also have an expensive quarterback. That's not a typical formula for success.

Very right, although I don't think the Colts need to worry for a little while because other then Edge,(big gap in meaning here) Brock, and Thorton, most of their defense is cheap and signed to longer deals.
Be that as it may, I'd love to see Peyton pull an Elway and restucture his deal to be a little more cap friendly. Oh well, a guy can dream.

The Colts are going to have to work to hold onto Freeney.

Yep but Polian will find a way, I'll trust him until he doesn't.
As an aside, am I the only one who wishes that, at least in some limited fashion, team salary cap numbers were made public. It would be alot of fun to play NFL GM The Home Game with the real life numbers.

Richard-

Here is a great site for how the cap works. Don't think it has salaries but you should be able to find them somewhere.

Thanks Round,
I had seen a few sites similar to this but none were this good.As for the salaries, they are pretty hard to find (thus far, admittedly this is a new interest for me), after that it would be simple subtraction, but some of those deals are locked up tight it seems.

Well their old system of having only 1 expensive WR and the most expensive QB obviously wasn't working.
