Default Where\'s the best place for a poker player to move to?

I've been playing online poker for a yr in the UK. I'm now thinking of relocating because the weather in the UK is soooooo bad and house prices are expensive.

Obviously the U.S isn't an option due to the new online gaming laws and because their immagration laws are so strict.

So where do you think the best place to move would be?
These are the determining factors in order of preference:

1) Must be easy for a British citizen to move there.
2) English speaking.
3) Hot (Can't handle anymore rain!).
4) Safe.
5) Low cost of living.
6) Not too far from the UK (ie less than 10 hour flight)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Don't ask for much do you.

Round here people seem to like Tailand and Argentina.
Australia also but your factor 2 and 6 complicates all.

Malta could do the trick for you having thought about it for a while.

Best advice I can think of are:

Thailand : Fails on distance and somewhat on Engrish. But excels in other areas
Australia: Fails on COst of livin (prob not compared to London though)
DOminican Republic: I think it actually covers all your requirements.

Portugal and the Canary islands are other possibilities closer to home.

i'd say Philippines/Thailand/Malaysia and maybe Costa Rica, but that wouldn't go with your number 6.

i'd include:
7. online gambling is not prohibited
8. 0% taxes

(have no idea how mentioned countries stand about this)

Cape Town/South Africa just about fits all the above, though it's not the safest place in the world. Awesome city/country though.

Re: the distance form the UK 10hrs or 20hrs, it's really not the big of a deal. Taking this into account I'd say New Zealand might be worth a thought.

[/ QUOTE ] True. Plane tickets won't cost THAT much more. The main thing to take into account is how many connections and stuff you'll need from London, and the former Bristish colonies are great in that regard. Plus being in a completely different part of the world will give you a whole new range of potential travel options.
