Default Best Casino in Indiana?

I saw something about Blue Chip Casino and was wondering what the best Casino in Indiana is to play poker. I typically go to Windsor because my friends are underage, and it's closer to me.

However, I hate hate hate crossing the border and my friends will be 21 soon, so we need a new place to play (NOT DETROIT!!!).

FWIW, I live in Ohio, about 1 hour north of Columbus. Also, I heard something about a boat on the Ohio river that has poker. Any info?

There are five boats on the Ohio and all have poker at the moment. Closest to you is Argosy in Lawrenceburg, IN. 12 tables. The next two don't have much action, Grand Victoria in Rising Sun, IN and Belterra, can't remember the town but it is next to the Markland Dam.

The largest poker room in the Midwest is at Caesar's IN near New Albany, IN (across the river from Louisville, KY).

The fifth boat is Casino Aztar in Evansville, IN. If I was driving from Ohio and willing to travel that far, I would continue on to St Louis to play or head for Tunica. Casino Aztar's poker room isn't much but they do spread O/8 on Tuesdays.

Thanks. I see Argosy spreads $1/$3 NL... Do you know the cap buy-in on that game off the top of your head?

I cant seem to find it online.

Also, do they spread Omaha Hi? It appears they do on some weekdays but im not sure when and how much.

Probably the best selection and size is Caesars Indiana in Louisville.

Argosy is smaller and waits can be longer, but it is closer to you and the games are just as fishy.

Steamboatin - I was at Caesars on Friday night, but didn't get a chance to talk with you. You snuck out before I came over. Was that 2-4-4-8 you were playing or 2/5?

I think it was $2-4-4-8. I am playing lower for a while because I started running bad in September and it just recently started turning around. I am not afraid to send myself back down to the minor leagues if I think it is the right thing to do.

I rarely play NL but after the BB Jackpot goes out this time, I am going to start playing the baby NL. The limit games are not what they used to be. I think NL has taken a lot of the action players from the limit games.

When I first started playing (about 5 years ago) the $10-20 game was strong. There would be two or three tables pretty much all the time. Now the 10-20 game will sometimes break early in the evening on a weekday. It still gets two or sometimes three tables on the weekends and I have noticed the lower limits have fewer players and less demand.

So now that I have headphones and a hoodie, I guess I will be playing Allin poker.

Sorry, OP, stealing a little from your thread. I do recommend Caesar's if you get down here.

I live in Lexington, and it's about the same distance to Belterra/Argosy as to Caesar's. So far, I've been only to Caesar's, and I really enjoy it. (1/2NL) Is there any reason I should try the other casinos if I'm happy with Caesar's?

No, not really. Argosy's NL is raked as opposed to Caesar's IN time charge. Argosy's deli food is expensive and not that good and I believe if you get there a little later on a weekend night, the wait lists can be long.

I was driving to Argosy to play the $5-10 O/8 game but I understand it doesn't go very often now so I haven't made the trip for quite a while.

Translated, my information is dated.

Staying at Belterra on Saturday and plan to play the tournaments on Saturday and Sunday plus a little NL. Got a poker room rate for the night- $70.

I believe they charge rake on the NL games, is this correct?

StepBangin, plenty of action in the Columbus and Cleveland areas at the charity nights. Been getting a good bit of 1/2 NL these days in Columbus.
