Default Vancouver - poker rooms?

I will be going to Vancouver, Canada next week. Plan to visit a casino and play just a little bit of poker.

I read about Edgewater and River Rock.

Anyone been recently? Any thoughts or suggestions?

I play 1/2 NL HE and low limit games.

Thanks!

I live in Vancouver..

Been to both.. if you want a soft 1/2 NLHE game go to Edgewater.. Last time i was there made 500 in 1 hour. They have about 20-30 tables and always have games running, only bad thing is there is no min buy in for the 1/2 people buy in with like $30 all the time.

River Rock is much better I think but the games arent as soft. Not to far from the airport and a much nicer look all around. It can also get very VERY crowded at times the wait lists can go up to liek 100 people at times. The game is pretty good though jsut the wait kills you.

If you are in town PM me , we can meet up and kill the games.

River Rock has 1/2 NLHE $40min-$200 max. Also has 2/5 NLHE $200 min-$1000 max (Great deep-stacked game).

Edgewater has the same limits, but has a $100 MIN , unlike what was posted above.

All other casino's are too far out of the way unless you're a local.

LHE is 4/8 and 4/8 Kill, $3 rake at edgewater (i think) and $5 at RR always 10%. Bad Beat jackpot drop $1, the jackpots get huge (+100,000 tax free). 30 tables at RR, 15 at Edge, poker room phone numbers to get on the waitlist are:

RR: 604-247-8983
Edge: 604-408-4060

One hour to check in after getting on the waitlist (phone-in is a must on Fri/Sat evenings)

Just to clarify even further:

Edgewater has 1-2NL with 100min 200max, a player can make one short buy after going broke once a day ( there are a few players that try to do it more often).

The Edgewater 2-5 game has 200min 1000max, with the same one-time short buy rule.
