Move up, and quit if you don't run well. I'm currently seriously considering this option. [/ QUOTE ] I'm considering this as well. I have most of my roll on PS, but i'm considering putting my WHOLE roll on the table at fulltilt for a whopping $600 (OMGZWFTBBQLDO)! |

Re: official end your downswing thread
Many good suggestions in this thread, I just want to add one thing re tilt/letting results affect you. It's a variation on 'results don't matter' and it's going to sound simple but for some reason it only really sunk in for me tonight.
If you are the kind of person who is both self-critical and plays poker partly for the satisfaction of being good at it (I am both), it is very easy to equate bad results with being bad at poker, and to let the feeling that you are bad at poker cloud your judgment. It is so important to be able to mentally separate winning from "success," especially if feeling unsuccessful will make you play badly. If you are actually playing like [censored], it's important to recognize that, point is that temporary results and temporary mistakes are, in fact, temporary, and neither defines how good you are at poker. |

Re: official end your downswing thread
I'm currently working my out of a pretty crap run on i-poker, it took me 49000 hands to get back in black, finally got there yesterday, not a nice run, but i believe it has improved me as a player.
Last month including play on full tilt, i-poker and Sun MTTs and RB I made $8013 Total (but I finished the month -$1361 over 35,000 hands on i-poker, was 3500 down at my lowest point) A lot of beats, then subtle tilt, then not playing so good, and sometimes real deep fustrated tilt, but i stop pretty quick and leave the tables when that big tilt hits. On PokerEV when i run it now, i'm now $2725 down on expected allin winnings over the 49105 hands that i have played there. But i'm honest with myself when i play and don't try to hide behind bad luck, i try to improve so the luck affects me less. Yesterday i'm playing and this hand happened Villian is 18/8 and thinks i'm a taglag (i'm running about 26/20 with an att to steal around 45 on this table) due to previous hands that he has seen over the last 50 to 70 hands, i've got a pretty good feel for his play and he thinks i'm always trying it. iPoker No-Limit Texas Hold'em (NL200), $2.00 BB (6 handed) SilverKitty Hand History converter by www.pokeronline.com.ua Button($347) Yup,Outdrawnagain($402.9) BB ($200) MP2 ($431.5) MP3 ($917.65) CO ($218.45) Yup,Outdrawnagain: Post SB $1.00 BB: Post BB $2.00 Preflop: Yup,Outdrawnagain is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 folds Suckoutking Raise $8 Yup,Outdrawnagain Raise $24 1 folds Suckoutking Call $17 Flop:($52) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img](2 players) Yup,Outdrawnagain Bet $37 Suckoutking Raise $100 Yup,Outdrawnagain Raise $340.9 Suckoutking Allin $222 Turn:($751.9) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img](2 players, 2 all-in) River:($751.9) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img](2 players, 2 all-in) Summary: Suckoutking has A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Total pot $748.90 Rake $3.00 Suckoutking: wins $693.00 Yup,Outdrawnagain: wins $55.90 Sure its a bad beat again, but yesterday it didn't get to me, i just got on with it , thought to myself thats exactly how i wanted the guy to call of his stack and all my previous play at the table which resulted in him doing that worked. So yesterday i finished 873 up and back in black on the site The main point i want to make, is when a down swing happens it will start off as bad luck, but be honest with yourself about when it starts to affect your game, and then work, work, work on it. |

Re: official end your downswing thread
Another thing I must add is to start listening to music while playing, and you know, having a good mood. Making fun of yourself when you suck, shouting when you outdraw etc.
