Fold unless he's retarded. He's just pushed close to a full stack into a dry sidepot. If he's good 8d9d is possible but I still fold.

Also I check the flop a decent amount here. Good chance AA is no good when 5 people see this flop. Check, and see what develops.

I'm calling. A 20/7 coldcalling is usually a pocketpair or a big ace. 77 just got less likely, QQ is possible, but he might have reraised with it. Odds are he has TT or AQ here.

When I get so many callers I'm almost always going to the felt with AA on a nonscary board (especially when there's a face card). Stacksize compared to the pot means that you're basically potcommitted once you cbet.

There are exceptions of course when there's a huge amount of action from full stacks(like cbet, call, call, c/r allin)

I don't like a continuation bet here, at all. Other than KJ, there aren't any real draws, and we are OOP.

Continuation bet? Are we playing AA for set value now?

Why would we not bet out here, on ANY flop? Do you give up just because of the number of people in the hand? This flop almost certainly hit someone's hand for a pair. A better hand is possible, but we have no info yet. However, if we check the flop, AQ is betting it and, after we'ver shown weakness, we'll probably have to drop the winning hand. I bet this flop and bet it hard, closer to a PSB.

On the turn, as played, I call getting 2:1. Villain's coldcalling range probably does not include a 7. I expect to see QT, AQ or worse often enough to be profitable. Hero threw out a weak flop bet that looked like a c-bet, then checked the turn showing further weakness. TPTK looks pretty good to Villain often enough to make this a call.

p.s. That the Villain is betting a "dry side pot" doesn't mean much to me. Villain can be betting a lot of hands that we beat, but that he thinks will beat the all in short stack. A dry side pot reduces the possibility of a bluff, but does little to reduce the range of hands he'll value bet.

If villain thinks he is betting AQ for value on the turn he has a screw loose somewhere.

Paul,

I agree with you conceptually, but your analysis assumes villain understands the concept (or is at least aware) of a dry side pot.

I see many at NL$200 who do not and stack off with crap thinking they can push hero out.

There is no way I'm checking this flop against a bunch of poor players. If it was a bunch of tags I'd start to worry, but I severely doubt this is the case.

It looks like a very safe board that you can get a lot of value from.
