there were three 2-5 games going this afternoon... started good and got worse. We were trying to start a 5-10 table when I took a break. There was also 25-25 going, although I didn't get a good look at it.

Going to have a nap and head back in a few.

Does anyone know if there's free wifi at the rio?

edit: Also dropped by the Wynn and the Venetian, but no one either was or had been spreading PLO.

So that 1-2 uncapped game is going at binions? Has anyone taken a look at the Venetian or anything up there?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, uncapped. But the two games I saw both had a forced $5 bring-in, so the low rollers were kind of getting priced out. People who wanted to "try it" were not really able. I'm going to talk to Carole about that next time we go up.

Games are unbelievably good there. On Wednesday I lost five buy-ins, and I am probably the tightest rock ever. I think all but one hand I was going in with the best of it. Good day

The PLO tourney got a good crowd, but I think they probably should have made it a rebuy. Some people literally played one hand, and were out, which doesn't give time a chance to even out variance.

During the next ten days, there is a PLO8 event, LO8 and PLO main event for 1k, so that should keep the cash games afloat, plus the 5% rake up to $2 on any Omaha game is a great deal!

Depends. Seems like on the day they had PLO it started early (when players began busting out en masse). On weekend days, ditto. On weekdays, um, good luck.

Went back to the Rio and took away $500

Back to even for now. People play soooooo bad.

the 2-5 plo cash game at the rio was hilarious. i lost 1k due to getting impatient, unlucky, and cold decked, but i can honestly say that if any one of those things changed, i could have paid for my entire wsop vegas trip in a couple of hours there.

it wasnt so much a plo game as a contest to see who could put the most money in the pot.

x-post from the WSOP forum

is the 10k PLO a "double chance" event?

from the structure sheet posted on their website:

[ QUOTE ]
Players begin with $10,000 in Tournament Chips. Players may receive an additional $10,000 in tournament chips anytime during the first three levels. Any player that has not taken their add-on by the end of the third level will automatically receive it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm planning to play this event but I'm not in Vegas yet. As far as I knew, this was going to be a freezeout with 20k chips. Does anyone know if this is the same structure as other years, or if it has changed for this year, or if Harrah's are so incompetent they printed incorrect details on the structure sheet?

A few comments on the Rio games from the past week

An american wrap is a pair + a straight draw or better

Player styles are pretty mixed but mostly pretty weak passive

funniest thing for me to hear said is "this would never happen in hold'em"

Sometimes the game can play deep and uncapped buyin PLO is deceptively big. typical online win rate ideas should be thrown out the window.

Last night there was this guy on my left complaining about the action in the game and how there was "10k on the table earlier in the night". He was of course sitting with $200

The best thing ever invented in mississippi was the mississippi straddle.

That is all.
