Default Bad Bad flop play

Button is 62/26/1.9 Only read I have is that he has played his flush draws superhard so far in spots where he must realize that he has no fold equity.

UTG is 57/17/1.4
Notes: Raised from SB with 99.Then bet flop and turn OOP against two opponents with ace on board. Bet river two against 1 remaining opponent.Seems more decent postflop than preflop.

I was going to checkraise flop but when UTG donked i changed my mind and was going for a checkraise on turn instead.Pretty bad thinking probably.
Now Iīve a tricky decision on turn. Call or fold?

you've gots to checkraise that flop. tons of value

turn is a fold yo, button likely has a K and you might get trapped for even more bets

Don't screw around OOP with a medium strength hand, especially after BU calls UTG's donk. Follow through with your c/r and go from there.

Turn is a fold as played.

agreed with the c/rs. btw, SBs play is standard from your observations (99 SHOULD be raised from SB, not sure if you thought that was a leak or not).

good notes on villains

I like the way you played the flop, with one caller already and a very vulnerable hand I believe it's better to wait to the turn. On the turn I think you have an easy fold.

In a way, you're right. The problem is that "waiting for the turn" is very difficult when we're out of position. What if the turn is a safe card, how do you play? There's no guarantee that you'll get in a raise somewhere. That is why you need to checkraise the flop to extract value immediately and take control of the betting.

If we somehow would have been in position, then it would have made more sense to "wait for the turn", since it's easier to control the action on the turn when we're in position. Not saying that it would have been better than raising the flop even when in position, but waiting would at least be more reasonable than when out of position.

Raising 99 from SB is standard. But when he continues to fire a dry ace board on turn and river against two callers he is revealing that he is capable of keep on firing with hands that arenīt better than top pair.
I canīt say it is a bad play since he doesnīt have many alternatives but it also means that he can have less than top pair when he fires turn in the hand posted.

I hesitated before folding turn.My intuition said to me that I have the best hand here more than my fair share. The brain said no way.
Button flips over AJ.UTG calls down with 53s.And I kick in grandma:s teeth.

Iīm not that sure everyone share my view of why the flop play is bad.
I think my flop play is bad because I got myself in a position where I folded the best hand. I very much doubt that I would have been facing two bets on turn if Iīd raised flop.
When it comes to value it sure is debatable to wait to turn.
But my reads is pretty much saying that one of these guys bet turn like always allowing me to checkraise turn.

So my follow up question is:
What turn cards over 9 do we just check/call turn with and which cards over 9 do we checkraise turn with.
Does it matter if there are two players left when you take the turn decision? And does it matter which one of them that bets?
