OK, so I shall suggest some beautiful places for ya Grim...

In Americas:
Columbia (especially the wilderness is really nice if you can enjoy it in solitude)
Haiti

In Africa (all excellent picks):
Sudan
Somalia
Cote d'Ivoire
Democratic Republic of Congo
Liberia
Zimbabwe

Asia:
Myanmar is the undiscovered pearl

That should be enough.

As for Europe (e.g. Paris) on my list: I've already spent a lot of time in Europe and wanted this trip to take me to places I had not been/spent much time. I agree there are many other awesome places to go than the ones on my list. Mine focused on Africa, because I wanted to spend time there and didn't think I'd have much opportunity to go other than on a trip like this. Other places (read: Europe) I will go to for work/shorter vacations.

Grim,

come chill with me. If I were to offer you some gangster activities and a 100% chance of getting laid, is that something you'd be interested in?
