Devils rumored to get Brent Sutter as their coach. I like it - a guy who should last 161 games here.

very funny. Julien wasn't a very good coach and it showed the way the team was playing. The reason I don't like pulling the rug out like that is because coaches are a prickly bunch and might not want to be embarassed like that - might dissaude some guys from coaching here. Then again, Lou says, if that does - [censored] them, they didn't want to coach here in the first place. Hard to argue with that.

None of that Marleau Guerin kind of trash happened in NJ during the post-season - then again, New Jersey already wasted enough time with Bill Guerin to know he was trash.

Souray signs with the Oilers. 5 years/27mil

lol i saw this on tsn

"I'm heading home to Alberta and I can't wait to step onto the ice at Rexall Place,'' Souray said in a release. ''It's always been a terrific building to play in. I couldn't be happier with my decision and I can tell you it was an easy one to make."

pretty sure he meant to say something more along the lines of "wtf gomez is a forward, i score 2x as many goals and i settle for half the contract? and i'm playing even playing in cali?"

Yeah, Edmonton needs to convert Souray and Pitkanen to forwards. Their combined -53 last year was brutal. Okay, Pitkanen was much better his first 2 seasons, but Souray has been nothing but a liability on D the past few seasons.

At first, I thought it was Marino - #13.

Now I just need the SF Giants and Sacramento Kings to change their colors to match. Maybe even change their names to the Giant Squids and King Crabs. I could have a teal/orange room for my 4 favorite teams

First off, the Ducks claimed orange first for the Pacific. We even gave you back teal to be all your own.

Second, WTF? The old uniforms were some of the best in sports IMO. Adding orange like that is too Dolphin/Jaguar-esque and I don't like what they did with the new logo (below). The teal on the shark's head is my biggest problem. Otherwise it's basically the same logo, redrawn with a little orange added.

Actually, I kinda like what they did on this one I just saw, with the tail in view. Lose the text and it's not so bad. So which is it?

Sharks had orange way before the Ducks did

I posted the logo earlier in the thread.... I didn't like it at first- but it's growing on me. I like the curved shield and the hockey stick actually looks like a hockey stick now.

Look at the tape... the gills... the eye... the fins...

That logo is a classic, IMO, but this new one is great.

I don't like the text only because the San Jose throws it off balance. I think I would rather have the San Jose running along the top curve and the Sharks on the bottom.

One of the logos is supposed to be on the shoulder, the other will be the main crest. Before the logo was released, a cartoony full-bodied Shark was rumored to be the shoulder patch.
