Re: ***Official Irish Poker Open thread***
The structure was horrible once they got down to 4 handed. Blinds were 40k/80k with 7 million chips in play. Imper1ium was by far the best player left. Roland was playing ridiculously bad. At one point 7 handed he raised utg to 175k at 30k/60k, the bb shoved for 208k more and he folded 33 faceup.
Congrats to Sorel, but he deserved better. |

Given you thought the structure bad at that moment, why do you assess him to be the best player left? Did he manage to conjour up some plays in a structure that allowed no such play (push/fold as u put it)?, or is it purely the North American connection? Just wondering. stoneii |

Re: ***Official Irish Poker Open thread***
Just because the structure is bad doesn't mean everyone plays the same. If Sorel was effectively restealing and knew how to pushbot once he got down to 10 bb's and it was clear Roland did not, Sorel has a huge advantage for the structure but it's probably still only 60/40.

"and it was clear Roland did not"
I'm sorry Gobbo, I just can't believe you are so dismissive of a player who's both an EPT & WPT winner in favour of what Sorel describes as his best cash by far. Roland is a gambler without doubt but to indicate that he "clearly" doesn't comprehend pushbot restealing is just plain wrong Do you see why stoneii |

Re: ***Official Irish Poker Open thread***
I was there too. I was talking to Gobboboy a bit around the cash tables on the final day. (I was the guy with blonde that was friends with the Spanish guy playing the 10-25-50 PLO game).
It was a great event imo. The atmosphere was amazing and one of the kind. I went up solely for the cash games and to rail the ME. Didn't do much railing as the cash games were extremely juicy. It was a great event and I'd reccommend it to anyone to play it next year |
