Chan\'s new book any good?
Has anyone read Johnny Chan's new book and is it worth buying? Also what about NL & PL championship hold'em by McEvoy & Cloutier? Thanks.

Re: Chan\'s new book any good?
I have the book, there is lots of great stuff in that book. I recommend getting it as he goes thru several hands step by step.

Does he give some advanced insight that hasn't been published previously? What type of levels is he aiming at? Thanks, PJS |

Re: Chan\'s new book any good?
Million dollar holdem limit cash games, this is some of the stuff in the table of contents....late position play, playing a trash hand, bluffing on the river, betting overcards for value. There are tons of hands examples where he walks you thru preflop and all streets and you play the hand with him and he explains if this is your hand what you should do etc. I havent read the book as i just got it recently but it looks like a pretty good book as you get the idea of how to play a hand in such and such position. Again, im not a limit player persay and i havent read the book. 357 pages.

Re: Chan\'s new book any good?
Thanks for the link, Deac. I was going to pick it up at the Gambler's Book Shop last week, but they were out. (Should have bought it the week before, dang it.) I had glanced at the table of contents and it looked good, but passed, as I don't play limit, anymore.
I did pick up Navarro's book and Why You Lose at Poker, which are both pretty good. CJ |
