LOL @ the whole concept of "warning shots." That's the most retarded idea ever, especially for a cop. Everyone knows cops carry guns, they don't need to fire into the air (risking killing an innocent bystander) just to show everyone they have a gun.

[/ QUOTE ]

Soldiers at checkpoints fire warning shots even though they're carrying large, very visible, weapons. I'm sure there are situations when a cop could shoot a warning shot too, but they probably don't involve the target having a gun.

The police hold everyone that is a potential witness, unless they are attempting a coverup. There is something fishy here.

CDC saw the entire thing and didn't report anything fishy, so I don't really understand what you're getting at.

He was implying that CDC would have been held by the cops to give a statement or something like that - it doesn't make sense, but that's what he was saying. As someone else said, damn lazy cops, couldn't subdue all those people to get them to stay. Ridiculous.

Sometimes I forget how many dumb posters there are here (steel)

From a Philly resident, glad you got out of that one okay CDC. I'm always expecting to be in a situation like that around here, thankfully I havn't been. If I am I hope I can keep my wits about me.

I find it hard to believe that the cops would pick a situation with hundreds of witnesses to do anything that needs covering up.

I'm not entirely sure, but I would imagine a police officer's responsibilities go something like this.

1. Ensure safety of bystanders
2. Take down the bad guy
3. Obtain enough evidence to begin an investigation

So when the cops see CDC running away, they're not gonna be like, "hey stand over here for a minute while we bust these dudes, then we'll take your statement." They're going to try to get them away from the fight, especially if there are weapons involved.
