NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
I really hate these situations, what do you think of my pre flop play and how would you play it? who would check and see a flop? And when the flop comes all blanks do you C-bet or give up immediately?
I seem to find myself in these very annoying situations all the time. Is AQs too good of a hand to simply check/fold in the blinds if there is no A or Q on the flop? Re: NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
Raise more preflop. Checking isn't bad either. Don't cbet into three people when you miss. As played, check/fold turn as you did.

Re: NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
I don't mind firing into 2 opponents on like a J62 rainbow board, but not this board. You are bound to get looked up by at least one of them. And yeah raise more preflop.

Re: NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
If you're going to raise from the blinds, then raise more. A lot more. Like $3.5 or so. You really don't want any callers. And if you get a caller, you'd rather have just one who will fold to a cb when he misses the flop.
The continuation bet is OK. C/f after that is good. |

Re: NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
Checking preflop isn't bad, but if you're raising, make it a good $3.50 to $4.00. With this many callers and a flop whiff, I c/f the flop. If there were 1 or two callers, the cbet is much better..once it hits 3, I'm leaving if I miss (especially if I'm OOP)

Re: NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
I sometimes check and sometimes raise.
If you raise you have to rep a big hand, think of it as a semi-bluff with A and Q as outs. So make a big raise and cbet. As played cbet is pretty bad, they don't really believe you pre and you aren't giving them much of a reason to release on the flop. In this particular situation I think a raise pre is good. There is a poster and I think anyone with a good hand would have raised it pre. Punish the limpers FTW! |

Re: NL50 - How would you play this AQs?
Either raise much larger or just call pf.
Cbetting on that board is -EV with 3 other players |
