Default Harrah\'s New Orleans

Does anyone know anything about the poker room at Harrah's New Orleans (number of tables, games spread, dealers, quality of play, etc)? It's possible that I'll be moving there in the not too distant future and I know absolutely nothing about it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The search function will pull up more detailed info, but here's a quick summation:

Frequent games, 3/6 LHE, 4/8 Omaha/Hold 'Em, 1/2 and 2/5 NLHE

Occasional games: 5/10 and 10/25 NLHE, 15/30 Omaha

Room is big, about 23 tables, steadily populated by regulars, most of whom are not very good. (Which is to say, it is possible to beat the horrid rake at the 3/6 game and the time charge at the NL games.) Additionally, the games are filled out by tourists/conventioneers, though not in the numbers they once were.

Comps are nonexistent, though it's the best parking value in the downtown/French Quarter area. 24 hours with a validated ticket.

Thanks,

Do you still live in the city? I've been doing a lot of reading on NO, and by most accounts it is only about 50 % of what it once was. Is that the case? Do you have any advice for someone relocating there? I've been to the city nuerous times as a tourist but have never stayed more than 4 or 5 days. Thanks again.

The things that are good about the city are still here, but a lot of it sucks in a big way. It depends on what you're coming down here for and the kind of money you make. With $$$, you can insulate yourself from a lot of the misery. Without it, you'll need to learn to embrace it.

You can PM me if you have any detailed questions about neighborhoods etc.

Harrah's sent me a promo offer for a 50k freeroll tourney
and 3 nights at the Hilton across the street over
the memorial day weekend, maybe we can get a 10-20
or 20-40 LHE going then? When I accepted it I had
no idea that it was topping out at 3-6... shoulda
used the search button before making reservations

Best,

zooey
