I could swear I folded once on a four flush board with significant river action and was awarded the $25.

But since I can't find the hand history, I wouldn't believe me.

they may have mis-paid you...but of course you have to go to showdown.

we had a discussion about particular strategies for this in the general forum a couple weeks ago.

Like many other things in poker, it depends.

Slowing down so much that you don't extract ANY value is a mistake.
Playing so fast that you push everyone out of the pot and just take down $20 is likely not going to be correct either.

Getting a read on your opponents and considering your own table-image is always a good idea too.
