Yeah, I'm posting in these threads to presumably get beaten down by people better than me.

Hand 1, I raise is up. I probably don't see a flop, but that's not a bad haul.

Hand 2, wow. I definitely raise preflop.

Hand 1: You had other options, of course, but I don't think there's any point in the hand where you clearly should have done something different. (This isn't exactly the ideal way to flop an overpair.)

Hand 2: I probably would have raised preflop, and, if I didn't, I probably would have bet the flop. But I don't see a huge problem with playing a hand in a super-small pot like this once in awhile.

In any case, the turn and river look perfect to me.

Raise both preflop.

Nothing really wrong with postflop, except for all the EV you missed by not raising and c-betting.

If you made sure to play a raised pot with any pocket pair in any position you wouldn't be making much of a mistake.

hand 1: fine, depending on how the SB plays. Against alot of the regular semifish in my games i'll call the turn because they'll blast any2 when the flop checks through. Against more passive players nh.

hand 2: definitely raise preflop. Raise tons of stuff when people open-complete your bb, nearly anything playable (but check some Ax and the occasional PP for balancing purposes). When it's folded to the SB you want to make his life miserable, you have position and you want his dead money as much as possible.

postflop is fine.

Hand 1: I raise this pre-flop with the plan to take down the pot. You rarely get paid with a set in a limped pot so either take it down now or get HU against some Axs hand that will fold to your c-bet.

Hand 2: Blind battles are very situational for me. With no reads or against a straightforward player, I raise AQ in the bb and probably double barrel all but the scariest boards.
