Re: Who really makes $$ anymore?
I think games have stayed the same or are maybe even softer now than they were 6 months ago.
BUT they're definitely a lot harder than they were pre-UIGEA. |

Re: Who really makes $$ anymore?
ok, honest reply.
yes, you can still make a living online. I would estimate the true $$/hour rate (for a givin skill level) has come down alot in the last year, but thats a process thats been going on for about 3 years. You combat that by getting better. In this game, this environment, if you not studying, thinking, learning daily your getting worse compared to the average. Get cardrunners. 6max cash, full ring cash (limit or nl), sng's, mtt's ALL play out differently. If you just play poker in em all (ie play roughly the same) your doing it wrong. Each one you play you have to spend alot of time studying to learn the right way to play THAT game. This is my 4th year playing full time for my families sole income. It's still possible. It's still not easy. Steve |

Re: Who really makes $$ anymore?
smellmuth why are you being such a [censored] in this thread? this coming from someone who has made over 10k/mo since july it's not that easy.
to get good fast i think you need a predisposition to logical thinking, good friends who are already big winners, and motivation. also it's a really small % of this site that makes that much money. also i too was hoping OP was greg1osu |

Re: Who really makes $$ anymore?
[ QUOTE ]
My point was that the games are much more difficult now and I'm making money at a decreasing rate. So eventually if I don't get any better I will LOSE. I'm trying to get better by getting "valuable" opinions. Why do people always have this nack for twisting threads around to make themselves look good? [/ QUOTE ] What are you looking for? FYI, I'm like you. I play casually, small-time, part-time, for a few hours a week. I am plus player over the last four years, but am withdrawing profits with less frequency these days. The people that win online have some combination of work ethic/hours put in and game study/improvement. It's been said already in this thread several times in several different ways. You want to get better, put in the time. It's really that simple. |
