Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (8/14) (5k PLH, 2k 7CS, 5k Headsup NL)
I agree with that, I think he should have at least bet half pot...
The stud tournament is interesting but the hands they're playing seem pretty misplayed...when the garbage board keeps raising you when he has a good reason to believe you have aces up, you're probably four outing it. It was a good fold on 7th, but if you're in that far you should really call there. I would have folded it on 5th, the way the hand went down (really!) |

Cunningham: Qs7s Lisandro: AKo Turn board: spade, spade, club, club. River: spade. Cunningham checks and Lisandro checks behind. Does anyone think Cunningham should have bet? Lisandro isn't an amateur. He's not going to bet into a possible flush. I hate check/raise on the river. It just kills the action. Change the rules. No check/raise on the river. Last aggressor acts first on the river. On this hand Lisandro would act first on the river. He would check and Cunningham would bet. More action. More decisions. [/ QUOTE ] Uh... Are you fking serious? |

I hate Humberto, is there a more tasteless piece of crap than him? I would rather watch Phil tell everybody how terrible they are than watch this douche dance around and taunt you with a piece of plastic and a light as you pray for your tournament life. Glad Norman gave him some crap for his mega douchness. [/ QUOTE ] Thankfully, I have Tivo, so i could just fast-forward every time Humberto pulled out his frickin' chark. What a dick. |

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (8/14) (5k PLH, 2k 7CS, 5k Headsup NL)
Blech. As usual they skip over some of the most important moves.
In Hold'em , Allen goes from a middle-low stack to almost the chip leader and we don't see a single one of those hands. Was he hitting good cards? Was he bluffing? Was he stealing preflop? We have no idea. In Stud, Daniel goes from chip leader to a desperate short stack. WTF happened? I would guess he was splashing around in way too many pots with a lot of junk, but who knows. F. [/ QUOTE ] thats a good thing i dont enjoy seeing obnoxious railbirds on TV [/ QUOTE ] espn was full of complete horse [censored] on this. t rice should have gotten tons more air time. he made 2 final tables at wsop this summer as well as one of the bellagio event final tables. heck of a guy heck of a player. espn made a major error here. |

No offense meant to T-Rice but he made the wrong final table if he wanted airtime. I mean cmon... Brenes, Cunningham, Lisandro, Griffin and the defending champ??? He's lucky if they even showed his face. Known players bring in the ratings and there was certainly no time in that hour for an intro to a no-name.

WTF Norm? A Queen would give Lester two pair, but it would give Humberto a straight with a KJ10 on the board. That wouldn't help him. [/ QUOTE ]Norm's a little confused I guess. |

Lisandro isn't an amateur. He's not going to bet into a possible flush. [/ QUOTE ] He's not going to call a bet with a possible flush out there, either. The only way Cunningham makes any more money is if he checks and Lisandro bluffs the river, which he's not gonna do if he thinks a flush draw is part of AC's range. [ QUOTE ] I hate check/raise on the river. It just kills the action. Change the rules. No check/raise on the river. Last aggressor acts first on the river. A few quick thoughts: - Yeah, that glass eye thing didn't need to happen. - I'll say this for Humberto: he's a gracious loser. - Part of me loves when Norm buries Hold 'em when they're doing other games. "This country was BUILT on the backs of stud players!" - Did I just miss it or did they only show the one hand of the heads-up final? (And it wasn't even the final hand. Weird.) |

[/ QUOTE ] this is the token complaint that gets rolled out every time someone or his friend doesn't get as much airtime as they think they "deserved." You gotta realize that the producers/editors have to make tough choices, so it's not relevant to them that Travis is the man (I agree), it matters what's the most concise storyline(s) they can deliver given the creative and time constraints. A lot of things have to work in your favor in order to get significant airtime on these broadcasts, and usually those things have nothing to do with poker accomplishments or talent or the interesting hands that took place. PS: Calling it a "major error" is absurd, it's more like a "slight oversight." |
