I'd like to make the same bet (I pick the 85) for something small, like $100 maybe. PM me if interested.

The max attainable ROI is much more than 300%, so you should still go with names over chips. FWIW, and I know most people will disagree with this, but I think the best player in the worlds' long term ROI in this year's WSOP would be somewhere around 1200%.

I think you are a favorite if you pick well.

Did I miss that dinner you were gonna setup for EDF btw? Are you still in Vegas?

I ended up not setting it up after I left my phone/blackberry in a taxicab. I made the huge mistake of eating a Starburst and yanking a cap off of one of my teeth, which put me on total life tilt for about an hour and lost it then.

I was there for six days: I don't think I saw you a single time. I would have at least introduced myself. I may show up at Foxwoods or the Borgata later this year; if so, I'll put together an EDF dinner for sure.

Boy, 1200% seems high -- there are defintely some terrible players in the field that have no chance, but 12x seems like a massive overlay. But if Phil H is still in the field at the end of day one, I'm burning a pick on him.

This is a very stupid prop bet... I really hope nobody takes this.

In reference to blueman's offer

First 64 picks: 21 from 1d remain. Strategy: Chips down to about 150, talent below that. Some of the chip counts overlap with talent, obviously (e.g. Alaei, admo, Cy Farzad). Yell at me, please, if you see any obvious mistakes.

Day 1a

Tinten Olivier (loved the books)
John Dutchak
Steve Austin (nananananana)
Adam Weiss (did I really do this?)
Adam ("Admo") Richardson (awesome photoshops, dude)
Cyrus Farzad (know him from Commerce days)
Michael Turiniec
Aurelio Arcano
Kitai Davidi
Scott Yates
Julian Gardner
Alex Michaels
Lars Bonding
Steve Jacobs (old RGP compatriot)
Justin Rollo (dude, Jurollo is HOT!)
Dane Lomas
Andrius Tapinas
Barry
Freddy Bonyadi
Brock (tsoprano) Parker
Billy Baxter

Day 1b

Dag Martin Mikkelsen
Jeff Banghart
Albert Strickland
George Dunst
Lewis Pilkington
John Sachs
Sven Anders Johnsson
Jason Welch
Frank Blumlein
John Duthie
Scott Seiver
David "Dragon" Pham
Scotty Nguyen (sentimental favorite)
Todd Phillips (underrated: know from commerce)
Berry Johnston
Cliff Josephy
John Strzemp
Sabyl Cohen
James Van Alstyne
Donn O'Dea
Robert Mizrachi
Neil (Bubble & Squeak) Channing

Day 1c

Jeff Norman
Thomas Barnard
Carl Olson
Michael Lum
Juan Fernandez
Daniel Alaei
Philip Hilm
Cristoffer Baar
Chuck Kelley
Richard Weisman
Frank Schram
Gigabet
Lee Watkinson
Jim "Walterzuey" Geary
Arthur Azen
JC Tran
Warren Karp
Hasan Habib
Fabrice Soulier
Florian Langmann (all name-team selection)
Joe Bolnick

How does something like this sound? I get to pick five people in each of the top, second, third and bottom 25 percentiles.

If, if one of them makes it to the final table, it would pay 10 to 1

If two or more make it to final table, it would pay 20 to 1

If one or more make it to final 3, it would pay 50 to 1

and finally, if any of one of them win, it pays 75 to 1

Fifteen, so I'm a little above par. But I do have the chip leader at $3.7. Remaining horses:

Alaei
Banghart
Bergren
Carroll
Edler
Evans
Gardner
Hilm
Karp
Keikoan
Kim (Kevin)
Mikkelsen
Nguyen
Watkinson
Welch

edited to fix dumb comment about being at par rather than ahead of par.
