Now over $1 million for the day and $4.2 million for the quarter!

They did miss the October goal, but if everyone hadn't been saving up for today and if they had pumped in the offline donations from that last week of October, they would have been close. I think they overshot on the $4 million for October and it should have been 3-4-5, but what are you gonna do? In the grand scheme of things it really means nothing when you raise over $5 million in 5 weeks!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah,it was always stated on the page that they wanted to reach 12 million in 3 months. But they had divided it up to make a 4 million goal each month, and they used to display the monthly donations, not the quarterly. They changed it sometime today, so now they dont look stupid for not making the first goal. Of course they still have time to reach the main goal of 12 million before December 31st, I just pointed out that their apporach changed from focusing on the monthly donations to focus on the quarterly donations a few days after it was clear that they did not reach their first part-goal.

The $12 mil goal is very aggressive. The $4 mil was an aggressive sub-goal, which they missed and probably expected to miss (but as of today are right back on track and will soon be ahead of track). What do you want, a memo on the front page saying "guys, just wanted to let everyone know we fell a little short of the October goal but have made up for it in November"? lol The point of these goals is to give people something to shoot for and encourage a team/community type atmosphere. You make it sound like it is some sort of conspiracy if they change the approach. Also you should maybe consider that they didn't want to list a humble "4 million" monthly goal in the midst of a massive grassroots effort to approach or exceed that in one day. Troll elsewhere.
