I would really like to make sticky notes and paste them to their forheads live but I don't think that would go over well

I prefer to use a staple gun or hammer-tacker. It hurts, so they get pissed off and are more likely to go on tilt.

Talk to yourself. Makes them think you're the Rainman.

This post is from a while ago, but I wanted to say thanks again for the tips, I have been recording notes on players in a notebook. I realize that the majority of these players would probably be crushed in a real B&M.

Basically they have no idea about bet sizing ie. making the same size bets as the PFR on every street, etc. and I've managed to take advantage of this. That, my notes, and basic SnG strategy has worked for me so far.

We're going in to playoffs next week and first place is apparently a custom designed poker table worth about $1000 so that is at least something worth playing for.

Currently in 3rd place after finishing 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, and 1st and starting with a double stack in the playoffs thanks to bonus chips. Thanks!

I can't believe you aren't in at least 2nd place with those finishes.

I bring in a piece of paper and a pen in my pocket. When I have some things I want to note, I get away from the table, right it down and then on the walk back, think about what it means to the way I'll play against that player.

When I'm home, it all goes in a comprehensive notebook.

If this is a bar league with all finishes counting, or at least top 10 finishes counting, they probably had a lot more than 6 tourneys, probably 20-30, so someone who plays everyone would have a lot more points...

One thing you can do is to narrate all the action to yourself, whether you are in a hand or not.

This brilliantly simple suggestion sounds like just what I need to stay focused when not in the action. Can't wait to try it on Saturday! The archetypes suggestion sounds good too, but with my limited experience, I might generalize too much.

Yeah I guess you could call this a bar league sort of, and I can't believe I'm not in 1st either; variance. Basically the format is 6 weeks (1 day a week) of 6-max SnG play. Those finishes are for the tables I've played at and there's a field of 60 players. You get points and bonus chips for the playoffs: eg: 1st - 10 points and 500 bonus chips, 2nd - 7 points and 350 bonus chips etc. So I'm sitting at about 50 points after 6 SnGs and the first and second place guys are 2 and 3 points ahead (One of them says he lurks here and puts in about 15,000 hands a month online, pretty casual player but decent).

The playoff format is a double shootout at 4 8-man tables with the top 2 from each table making the final table of 8.
