Default 6 handed vs. 9 handed rakeback

hi!

i get rakeback on full tilt. as it is "shared rake", is the rake in a full ring game always shared between 9 people, even if the did not put money in the pot?

and is it therefore mor profitable in terms of getting rakeback to play in shorthanded games, because the rake is divided only by 6 people?

or am i completely wrong?
thx for your help.

FTP uses "dealt" method, so you're correct, at a full 9 handed table, its total rake divided by 9. At a full short handed table its divided by 6. Heads up, divided by 2, so on and so forth. Anyone who is dealt cards in the hand gets credit for a portion of the rake.

You'll also see more hands short handed. More raked hands = more rake.
