Default How much 6 Max Limit to NL Tranference?

I just picked up Fromm's videos and Stox's new book. Do you guys think the 6 max skills are transferrable from limit to NL? Also, why all the limit stuff as of late?

That's what I'm saying! NL's the new...er...something. There's so much on limit. That's why I think priority should be given to PNLHE and HOH: Cash.

It's true. 6 max NL holdem is by far the most popular cash game, yet there are no books about it. I hope the upcoming books will fill that void by especially focusing on shorthanded situations.

I've heard that there might be a nl dvd series out later this year/more directed to nl cash then the rolf dvd's. There is a few books due out on nl cash games. The big one is matt flynn/sunny mehta due out in a few months/followed by volume 2 some time after that. Harrington has a 3 part and 3 book series coming out.first one later this year. Apparently, bobbofitos is editing a nl cash game book. Bob ciaffone is working on one/his might be done by 2010..lol

Truth is I don't think many KNOWN pros can write a good book on NL 6max because it's such a different animal than full ring. Professional No-Limit Hold'em will be awesome I'm sure, but I'm worried it won't have enough content on shorthanded. Maybe volume 2. Truth is I wish Green Plastic and sbrugby would do a book. That would be so worth it to have all of the stuff from their videos put into book form.

You have to be agressive and great at hand reading to be a good 6 MAX NL player.

I hope so. It seems to be the total online game (even I'm playing it, lol).

I think hand reading and understanding hand ranges/ opening standards are greatly improved playing limit 6-max and this is clearly a transferable skill-set to NL 6-max. Some other overlap might be - inducing bluffs with medium-strength made hands, semi-bluffing, raising for a free showdown etc.

obviously a huge lag on these books, as i'd say the market needs NL books for now and the foreseeable future.

i too am hoping that tougher limit stuff is somewhat transferrable to NL. definitely knowing where you stand and analyzing the flop would be transferrable..... total focus on # of callers too is vital.
