100NL Calling Re-raises OOP... How bad is this?
Ok, at the table for less than an orbit.
How bad is this call? I made it because another guy was coming along. I figure if it's heads up, it's auto fold because of stack sizes. This is definatly something I struggle with. Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 7 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $96.90 BB: $128.65 UTG: $99.00 UTG+1: $122.70 Hero (MP): $97.00 CO: $100.90 BTN: $130.80 Preflop: Hero is dealt 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (7 Players) 2 folds, Hero raises to $4.00, CO folds, BTN raises to $15.00, SB calls $14.50, BB folds, Hero calls $11.00 |

It looks a little -EV, but frankly you're gonna stack someone (if you're really lucky, both) if you hit, an awful lot of time. I'd probably call.

its meh...I would like it a lot more if you were even 115 BB deep instead if 100.

I think you have to call, even if it is slghtly $EV-. If you fold here, you fold to reraises too often and look weak.

If you are calling for set value u are overestimating your implied odds. To call for anything else than set value u have to have a read on the players.

As in you think he won't get a stack when he hits?
Or Just with stack sizes? |

Re: Calling Re-raises OOP... How bad is this?
he won't allways hit a stack. 3better might have about any hand if he 3b light and won't stack off with 44 for example. The cold caller might very well have a hand like TT+/AK and if an overcard is on the flop or if he doesn't hit his ace...

Re: Calling Re-raises OOP... How bad is this?
I agree and disagree.
At 200nl+ now, I would never make the call after the guy raises to 30 with 200 stacks. If someone posted the same hand except doubled and at 200nl, I would fold all day. At 100nl though I think this is quite debatable and not really +EV or -EV that much. It looks like this guy has AA/KK regardless, and the caller behind could have a pretty good hand as well. I think he gets a stack VERY often here, like >90% probably. Maybe I just have made the illusion to myself that 100nl is more of a fishfest than it actually is because of my(probably luck filled) success there. Maybe someone can chime in from 100 as to how often you think he gets a stack here? If I remember the games it seems like he gets a stack very often if he hits, but again maybe I am just convincing myself that 100nl was really easy and maybe it wasn't so easy after all but I just ran good and got a lot of donkeys to stack off. Edit: For clarity, I mix this play up a bit at 200nl with regs. If I just fold here every time then it basically means my calling area for 200nl of a raise is QQ+, AK. I would like them to view my range as 22+, AJs+ or something like that, because otherwise I wouldn't get much action. Obv. this isn't vs a reg so different situation. Maybe my play is a bit spewey, but NL awards bold aggressive calls preflop. |
