Default $.50/$1 HU NL hand

This is my first post on this forum so please let me know if this post could be any better.

I was playing $.50/$1 NL 6 max last night when the game started to break. It got down to HU and I only had about $40 left. My opponent has a little over $100. I'm on the button with Ks8d. The flop is 3c9dJd. Opponent checks as do I. Turn is Qd. He checks and I check behind. River is 10d and makes the board 3c9dJdQd10d. I no have the low end of the straight flush. My opponent bets $2 and I raise to $10. He thinks for about 5 seconds and goes all in. I obviously call and he has the Kd. Can I get away from this hand? Should I have just called his river bet? Fold after he pushed?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi and welcome. In the future, when you post hands, use the hand history from your hard drive and paste in into a hand converter. A link to one can be found in the master sticky at the top of the SSNL forum.

As far as the hand goes, I would never fold this ever. Sometimes you just get unlucky.

Another question: why were you playing with only $40 on a $100 max table?

Thanks for the advise with the converter. I bought in with $100 and got down to $40. Didn't want to rebuy cause I was about to leave the table.

This train of thought only makes sense if you expect to lose money.
