Default AK - how should I bet with villain raising??

My hand turned out to not be competitive. Should I have bet pot-sized on the flop, then folded to a raise. What if he just calls me on my hypothetical flop bet?

reraise preflop almost always, bet flop always, go from there. Your missing a ton of value from weaker hands playing AK like this.

you should seriously be re-raising pre-flop to .35. it is not bad to end a hand PF from the blinds since you will be OOP for the rest of the hand. then i would lead the flop. as played CO made a weaksauce bet and i would raise that [censored] up C/R stylee to find out if im beat or not. then i lead the turn. im not sure why you checked there other then to let him take control of the pot. then i guess you have to call the 1/2 pot size bet on the river. i know you are a newbie, and playing small stakes but don't play like this. this is WEAK play. good job posting, i see you post a lot of hands. keep posting and you will improve. if you are beat here i see pkt 8's jacks or KJ for the sick outdraw on the turn.

I'm not a big fan of reraising AK at this level unless villain has been very active. On the other hand, had you reraised he probably would have pushed AA/KK and you could have gotten off relatively cheaply. As played I raise the flop to about .40 and fold to a push.
