Default Help with Dell 2407

So Dell's customer service is f-ing retarded. I just called for help with my new 2407WFP-HC and the lady on the phone was telling me that she couldn't find record of it. At first I thought she meant record of my purchase but after a while it became clear that she was saying there was no model of monitor like that in her database... worthless.

Anyway, here's my problem. If I have the settings set to 1680x1050 everything looks ok, but... I want to use 1920x1200. When I try to set my display settings to anything larger than 1680x1050 the desktop becomes "too big" for the display instead of mapping to it. The task bar disappears off the bottom and to the right. If I put the mouse at the bottom of the screen it will scroll down until the task bar is in view, but now the top of the desktop is gone. Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how I can get the desktop to fit my screen at higher resolutions than 1680x1050?

I have the latest dell driver installed as well as the latest video card driver/software. I've played with the zoom settings in monitor menus. I tried the different scaling and aspect settings for both the vid card and monitor. I'm out of ideas.

OS: XP
Vid card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700LE

Nvidia says that the max resolution for your video card is 1600x1200 through DVI.
