[ QUOTE ] Maybe they will run double FPP/VPPs during their World Championship of Online Poker promotion. I'm hope they've taken notice how much we enjoyed this aspect of the promotion. Double FPPs are awesome! [/ QUOTE ] It would be cool if they just did it all the time [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: PS: 10 Billionth Hand Promo Details
Ok, the latest promo hand was 9.964 bil at 16:25 ET. Someone posted the first promo hand here, and it was on the 13th at 22:30 ET. So that's 90 hours for 64 million hands. Almost exactly 1.4 hours per 1 mil hands.
There's 36 mil hands left. 36 x 1.4 = 50.4 50.4 hours from now is Saturday at 6:55 ET. YOU'RE WELCOME |

Re: PS: 10 Billionth Hand Promo Details
I'm thinking it might be earlier than that. When it gets close there's going to be a ton of traffic on the site. The tables of autofolders will also increase the number of hands.
The last couple nights during primetime the promo hands were hitting every ~45 min, I couldn't catch up on Heroes and Lost without pausing them to play in the hands |

[ QUOTE ] I think the best thing to do for an organized fold-a-thon is to play 1/2 PLO8 6max. A hi-lo game would make the possibilty for a split pot, and thus reduce variance a little. These are low-traffic games, so getting on a table without anyone else interfering would be pretty easy if we did it fast. We would all buyin for the minimum of $40, and if we get the milestone hand, have an allin preflop flipament. Or we could agree to check it down, I don't care. If anyone wants to do this, PM me. Actually, I think it'd be fun to do even for the regular milestone hands. [/ QUOTE ] bump Still looking for people to do this. I think it's a pretty good system. PM me. [/ QUOTE ] I'll be playing most of saturday so I'm down for this. |

Re: PS: 10 Billionth Hand Promo Details

I'm not going to be doing this but I've done it in the past. Usually trying to get it organized for just one milestone hand is tricky. And if you are going to get a group together to do it for multiple milestone hands leading up to the big one then you are probably going to want to sit higher than .01/.02. Even .5/1 limit gets you out of micro and into 'low' which is a better prize. Or 1/2 NL gets you into medium. Somebody suggested to me that you could have one person raise and everyone fold so it doesn't look too suspicious. This is not necessary. Stars doesn't seem to care. Back when they first started doing these thins you could auto-fold all day long and they never stopped you. They had the heads-up tables eligible for the prize then and it was easy to find one other player who agreed to fold with you, then sit-out for an hour or so and wait for the next one, rinse, repeat, etc. No cover necessary. Just click and fold as fast as you can on all your tables if you're going to do this. I do not think it's a good idea at all to agree to split the prize with several other 2+2'ers whom you've never met before. Surely there are 1 or 2 who will be in your group who would definitely think twice about splitting it with you AFTER they got paid the whole sum. I think most 2+2'ers agreed with that idea when we did this before. If you get the auto-fold thing going just do it for the EV of having a chance at the big prize. Everyone can check it down instead of doing the push-fest if you like...but if someone goes all-in then you're stuck joining him of course. Even if you had a group of people who you knew really well, I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were complications arising from a pre-agreed split. Don't even be tempted to try to pull a Jaime Gold on this one. [/ QUOTE ] If this is the case and everyone is going to fold every hand doesn't it make no sense whatsoever to not play higher stakes so if u do hit you win a lot more money? |
