It would not be that interesting if it were on the last day.

The manager and/or players were be fined and/or suspended into the next season too. This would be a pretty serious infraction since people bought tickets, there is advertising revenue, etc.

I also don't see how this would be any different than a football team or basketball team walking away when they trail by a zillion points at half-time or in the 3rd Q.
It just doesn't happen. Well, not where I've ever heard of it anyway.
