Re: Rangers score most runs in modern era
[ QUOTE ]
This brought up a question for my wife and I. What happens if the Orioles just refuse to take the field after the fifth inning when they are behind by twenty runs? Obviously the game is forfeit, but that was going to happen anyway. I would imagine the club would be fined but if this happened on the last day of the season to a playoff bound club it would be interesting to see what the manager chooses to do. [/ QUOTE ] probably just have a position player pitch like it was batting practice? |

Re: Rangers score most runs in modern era
It would not be that interesting if it were on the last day.
The manager and/or players were be fined and/or suspended into the next season too. This would be a pretty serious infraction since people bought tickets, there is advertising revenue, etc. I also don't see how this would be any different than a football team or basketball team walking away when they trail by a zillion points at half-time or in the 3rd Q. It just doesn't happen. Well, not where I've ever heard of it anyway. |
