value and protection from what ? ... what card exactly am i afraid of falling on the river ? ... any spade ... ok easy flat call, any K J Q, im not giving him credit for a straight or a bigger set especially w/ how small hes betting...

If hes on a draw, this is the only street left that you are getting more money in (Unless he bluffs).
I see ppl making these small donkbets with draws all the time.

You also wanna build the pot when you have a strong hand.

Marshall -

Raising the turn is an automatic no brainer absolute must. If he's drawing, he won't put money in on the river unless it hits, so you must raise now to get value. If he has some sort of a hand, you want to get the pot built up so you can make a big bet on the river with your monster.

I would raise the flop here a lot of times in fact.

On the river, I wouldn't hate a flat call, as he can't call a raise with many holdings here. I don't think the raise is terrible, but his action in the pot makes me paranoid of KQs. He could have like AKs or AQs perhaps and those would likely pay the river raise, so I don't mind the push, and your hand is very underrepped, etc.
