Default Nice/Romantic Restaurants in Seattle?

My 1 year anniversary with the gf is coming up, so its time to take her to a nice restaurant that we haven't been to before (we like trying new places). If it is a romantic place, that would be a big plus, but definitely not a requirement.

Couple that I am thinking about:
Cafe Juanita (Did's suggestion)
Six Seven (probably saving this for V-day though)
Palisade (always wanted to try this place)

Any other suggestions?

El Gaucho
Metropolitan Grill

These are fantastic if you don't mind dropping a little dough.

Rover's
Le Gourmand

El Gaucho and Cafe Juanita are also excellent. The Met has good food, but its busy atmosphere wouldn't be quite as conducive to a romantic evening. Fun place to people watch though.

not a Seattle guy so I have not been to any of these places except Metropolitan Grill. We went there a while back when Canlis was closed for something. I thought it sucked in many respects. The service wasn't that great and all the food except for the steak was pretty bad IMO. The steak was very good; I thought mine was better than my wife's but forget exactly what we had. Good wine list. I guess the people watching was OK if you like watching people in flip flops and tank tops talk on cell phones during the meal. Maybe that is standard now tho. Anyway, we had a bunch of good food in Seattle, but not there.

If you were looking to totally ball, I've heard good things about both Union and Mistral.

When/if we get there again I will be too lazy to search thearchives and will ask for these recs again.

Before we went there we got some recs from 2+2 and they were solid. I had a trip report drafted but somehow it was lost. Yeah, I know, people are skeptical. Off the top of my head I remember liking Wild Ginger a lot. Cafe bechalu (sp) had awesome baked stuff for breakfast. Bad Alberts was a very good hamburger and beer place. At the time I told my wife we could have had like 12 dinners of burgers and PBR for the meal at the Metropolitan grill, and despite the good steak I would rather have a bunch of burgers and PBR at Bad Alberts. Coffee was good everywhere and no, we didn't have any from a chain until the airport out of town.

Canlis is supposed to be nice, but I don't speak from first hand experience.

Canlis is said to be overrated and overpriced for what you get.

Is a great place, you'll find a few different threads on this topic.

I didn't think El Gaucho had much of a romantic atmosphere.
