Default 3bet, 4bet , 5bet??

can some one explain what all these mean, I have a vague idea but i think i'm slightly off ? thank you

In limit hold'em a three-bet is a bet, raise, and re-raise. A four-bet is another raise on top of that, and a five-bet (where they are allowed) is another raise on top of that.

The same applies for NL holdem as well. A conversation with a buddy could go like this: "I bet and he raised me. I had the nuts and was thinking of smoothcalling but I decided to 3bet instead."

However, in NL holdem you don't hear 4bet or 5bet often because players are usually all-in by then.
